UNFCU Seminar Brings Together Philippine UN Retirees for Invaluable Insights

05/22/2025

On November 27, 2024, the Association of Former International Civil Servants in the Philippines (AFICS-PHL) hosted a dynamic seminar on the United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU), providing vital updates and insights for UN retirees. This engaging event followed an informative “Scam Alert” Telekwentuhan held via Zoom the day prior, on November 26.

The seminar, which took place at the UN House in the Rockwell Business Center, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, featured a hybrid format that welcomed both in-person attendees and virtual participants. Timothy Challen (Tim) and Anthony Kiyimba (Toony), dedicated Member Service Representatives from the UNFCU based at the UN Regional Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, led the session, sharing crucial information about new products and the evolving landscape of digital banking.

Using a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation, Tim covered a range of topics, including digital account management, the UNFCU’s diverse product offerings, strategies for combating credit card fraud, and the organization’s commitment to exceptional customer service. He encouraged an interactive environment by pausing for questions, ensuring that participants could engage directly with him and Toony.

The seminar concluded with valuable one-on-one consultations, where some attendees had the opportunity to discuss their individual needs with Tim and Toony, fostering a personalized experience.

Overall, the event not only served as an informative session but also as a joyful reunion for friends and colleagues, highlighting the strong community among UN retirees. It was a productive morning filled with learning and camaraderie, reinforcing the importance of staying connected and informed in today’s fast-paced digital world.
