Dear AFICS/NY members

01/26/2026

I am pleased to share with you our Fall/Winter 2025/2026 edition of the AFICS/NY Bulletin Vol. 55 ◆ No. 1 ◆ Fall/Winter 2025-2026, dedicated to the theme of Membership—what it means in retirement and how our members contribute to the life and strength of AFICS/NY.

In this edition, you will find reflections and data on the finances of AFICS/NY, insights into member demographics, updates on developments at the United Nations, highlights of the work of AFICS/NY committees, and personal news generously shared by our members. We conclude, as always, with the In Memoriam section, where we pay tribute to colleagues and friends who have left us and remember lives well lived.

We hope you will enjoy reading this Bulletin.

My sincere thanks go to the Communications Committee for preparing this edition, particularly Gail Bindley-Taylor, Judith Karl, Shirley Brownell, Laura Frischeisen, Alice Harrison, Mita Hosali, Dawne Gautier, Delia Barcelona, and Viola Morgan, with support from Velimir Kovacevic and Veronique Whalen. I also warmly thank all of you who contributed your stories, which are always a pleasure to read.

I wish you all a happy and peaceful winter and spring, and I look forward to our next edition.
