New Year’s Message from FAFICS

14/01/2025

Significant Anniversaries:

In 2025, we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and the 50th anniversary of FAFICS, highlighting our dedication to global peace, cooperation, and service.

The Role of Local Associations:

Local retiree associations play a crucial role in supporting former UN staff. They assist with residency, health insurance, and tax matters, offering practical, peer-driven advice to help retirees navigate these challenges.

A Strong Sense of Community:

Through meetings, events, and mutual support, our associations provide an ongoing sense of purpose, allowing retirees to stay connected and continue enriching each other’s lives.

FAFICS’s Global Mission:

FAFICS represents over 20,000 retirees, advocating for their rights, particularly regarding pensions and health insurance. It ensures the stability of the UN Joint Staff Pension Fund and the preservation of health benefits.

Protecting Our Well-being:

Through tireless engagement with the UN system, FAFICS works to uphold fairness, equity, and stability, ensuring retirees can enjoy their well-earned retirement with dignity and peace of mind.

United for the Future:

As we celebrate these milestones, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting both local retiree associations and the global efforts of FAFICS, safeguarding the legacy of those who have dedicated their careers to international service.

A Shared Mission Beyond Retirement:

Our work does not end with retirement—it evolves into new forms of mutual support, dignity, and purpose. Let us honor our past contributions and continue working together for a future where our service is recognized and protected.

Wishing You a Peaceful and Healthy 2025!
